BACK TO IT

After what could be called the merriest Christmas of all time, I'm back! and I have so much to share with you... but not quite yet. You will have to wait a little bit longer.

Over the next few weeks Red House Vintage is going be evolving and plans which I have had for a very long time will finally be coming together! We also have a seriously incredible collection coming out in early January. Think party times and long summer nights.
I really wanted to have some amazing dresses out for everyone pre-NYE but it just hasn't turned out that way, boo! So I hope everyone had something awesome to wear anyway and had an amazing time wearing it!

Unfortunately for me, Dave and I both had to work yesterday (he also started at 8am this morning, ewwwww) so we decided to postpone out NYE celebrations until tomorrow night. Daves band, Two Suns are supporting Earthless. Best. Thing. Ever!! so tomorrow should be a particularly epic night. I was really excited for this gig before Two Suns were supporting... so now I'm like crazy-excited. If you dig your psych rock jams (not to mention awesome long effing guitar solos) I really hope that you are catching Earthless somewhere near you over the next few weeks! and if you are in Adelaide you should def come tomorrow night (Sunday 2nd Jan) to the The Ed and join my party!

At the moment I'm planning to dress slightly on the tame side (very out of character, no maxi dress, no psychedelic patterns or massive sleeves) tomorrow night in a pretty black pleated vintage dress. Super plain but easy to accessories the crap out of. Some of my very attractive friends will be there too, no doubt looking like babes so I promise to take some photos for once!! and actually post them!!!

Anyway Happy New Year everyone, get ready for whats set to be the best one yet!
But for now, I'm off to see the Wizard.... XX

HAPPY SUMMER

So first day of Summer is here and although its pouring with rain (seriously wtf), I'm feeling hopeful.
I have written a list of all the things I want to buy/do/achieve over the Summer and can't wait to see how many I do in fact follow through with.

I actually pre-completed one which was to find a casual job in order to be able to buy some awesome x-mas presents and be able to afford stuff in general.
I am now the proud employee of Greater Union Cinemas and I am so looking forward to starting!! Most exciting part is when the sun does actually start behaving and then in turn punishing us with weeks of 40+ days I will be in the cool, dark air condition climate of the Cinemas. Hoooooooooray!

Anyway my list goes something like this:
  • Finally buy my dream camera
  • Build a full on rabbit run to go with Gypsy's sweet as mansion hutch
  • Make our garden actually nice, including a veggie patch
  • PrePartyPrep for my year belated 21st
  • Start everyday with a glass of lemon water
  • Get a haircut (Hello Hania!)
  • Start to paint again and take my camera with me everywhere for inspiration
  • Make my Dad some pickles and while I'm at it marinate myself some chillies and mushrooms
  • Get Red House Vintage related things orgainised!!!
  • Make my office fully function able
  • Finally announce my new Red House Facebook giveaways
  • Do the RED HOUSE VINTAGE LOOKBOOK

There are so many more things but I think this is a pretty good start.
I hope that everyone has a seriously happy and (delicious) fruitful summer and that no more heat wave records are broken.
Wish me luck I have induction into my new movie family tomorrow and I'm bar working for the entire Ashes.

ALL I WANT

I'm just going to say one thing re:giveaway... lying ebayers are so effing shit!

Annnnyway so Christmas is fast approaching and I have been racking my brains over what I want ( I am so much better at thinking of presents for everyone else and not for myself) but here is my short sharp and shiny list:

In no order of preference: Low Leopard Print Cons, Missoni Crochet Vest, Lime Crime "My Beautiful Rocket" lipstick, Vintage Givenchy Necklace, Big Day Out ticket (my Granny has given me this every year since I was 15 but its soooo expensive this year, boo!!), Shop Till You Drop subscription, Vintage Beaded Cape.

Looking back I feel a bit greedy, but they are seriously just ideas and I would be more then happy with just one of these things. I guess Christmas would have to be one of my favourite times of year... mainly because of my deep obsession with fairy lights but I also love giving the perfect presents and eating delicious food with the people I love. I'm actually getting excited! Bring it on.

TIME FLIES

Cannot believe how quickly this week has flown past!! & I still haven't been able to announce my amazing new Red House Vintage Facebook giveaway. So close but still unfortunately waiting on a few things in the mail. I'm so excited about it and really hope they come tomorrow so I can announce both giveaways this weekend. No matter what, it will be worth the wait!

In other Red House related news, we will be at the Gilles St Market once again this Sunday, with some seriously amazing pieces which I have been saving especially for summer. So if you're in Adelaide and want to enjoy the sunshine it's an awesome way to spend a Sunday (& I would love to say hello!)
Promise I will to have a waayyyyyyyy more exciting post soon!! Dave and I have scored massively at markets lately and I can't wait to show some of our awesome finds! So ridiculously busy though, I haven't even had time to be inspired let alone take any photos. Anyway fun stuff soon! XXX

SOON

So next weeks pretty exciting for Red House Vintage as we are finally announcing our second Facebook giveaway!

All the whinging my boyfriend does every time we go op shopping (or shopping in general) about lack of cool boys stuff has finally paid off for vintage and fashion loving gentlemen of the world. I have decided to have both a girls and boys prize! woohooooo!

I am currently putting the final touches on both lots of prizes but am still open for suggestions. So if you have any ideas, wants or lusts let me know and you never know what might happen?!
I'm really excited.

Next weeks a big one with a Gilles St. Markets, a few job interviews, a photo shoot, heaps of altering and hemming, getting the lookbook ball rolling and of course giveaway announcing. So awesome, can't wait.

But for now, It's almost vodka time in our house so I best be getting ready now... before it's too late!
Happy weekend everyone XXX

MISTY SUMMER

Kasia Struss in Naag, November 2010
So dreamy it hurts!
I wish I could wear a massive fur jacket in the middle of summer but it's definatley more likely I'll be getting a round in a sweet crochet lace dress. If I can find one in time!!

HEY THERE

OH MY. Where have I been?
I can't believe I've neglected my blog for so long.
And truth be told, I don't feel like I've done or achieved anything worth posting about.
My past two weeks have been full of planning.
I've been writing lists, having discussions and brainstorming like a mofo.
With so many things in the works and crazy ideas flying around its hard to know where to start.
Today I am having a break for all of that and taking one of my favourite people out for a day of massive op shopping to celebrate her birthday. Personally it's my favourtie way to spend the day and can only be topped by a day of op shopping with a picnic lunch.

In other news, I currently have a small collection in Red House Vintage store.
there are some ammmmmaaaazzing pieces:

Vintage Floral Sun Dress

Vintage Givenchy Cut Offs

Vintage Cropped Frill Top

Vintage 70s Tennis Shorts

Vintage Crochet Black & White Dress

Vintage Beaded Bustier - sooo awesome

Vintage Nautical Stripe Tee

Vintage 70s Maxi Dress w' Original Tags

Vintage Lace/Crochet Top

Vintage 80s Square Dress

Vintage Polka Dot Shift Dress

Vintage Plaid Picnic Dress

ooh! just while I think of it, I am currently on a crazy dip making mission. Dips are one of my absolute favourite foods and this year I feel that home made dips will be a nice contribution our family Christmas lunch. So before then I need to narrow it down to a top five and perfect the crap out of them. Any ideas, secrets or even recipes would be very welcome!! XX

VINTAGE DREAM DRESS

Sure it's not something that I could pull off but I completely love and respect the amazing awesomeness of this dress...

It has the most amazing pearl detailing, floral rose pattern throughout the material and round cut out in the back.
Has a cooler dress ever existed? I don't think so & honestly these photos just don't do it justice!
Check it out here!!! XXX

SERIOUSLY

Could I be more slack lately? Or maybe it's just that I'm continuing to be a really super boring person. ugh.
Anyway I checked out the Stella McCartney collection in my local Target and the two pieces I was most interested in weren't even there! Not because they had sold out, they just didn't get them in store. su-uh-uk. I was super disappointed about this I failed to really look at anything else on offer, except of course the super cute black round hat which is easily my favour tie piece anyway.

On the bottom of my priorities (but top of my wants) list this week is a new couch. About two years ago Dave and I found the most amazing lounge set in an op shop and scooped it up (pre moving out it was so good) It is gold and had an amazing wallpaper like pattern, comfortable and probably the best looking set of lounges of all time. Unfortunately the main two seater has failed to stand up to our high demands of sit time and has decided to start sinking. So we are now on the look out for the perfect two-three seater to fit right into our lounge.
Here's what I'm thinking...

None of these are exactly perfectly what we want but they are all pretty cool. It needs to be big comfortable and fit right into our 60s/70s lounge room decor. Apparently (after accessing these photos) I want it to be velvet... and I guess it either needs to match our existing lounge chairs or contrast against them. Blue? Deep purple? hmmmmmm...

STELLA

Stella McCartneys new collection for Target launches tomorrow and it is all so ridiculously lovely. Love the navy, the lace, the silk!!! Seriously considering requesting an early christmas present! But what to choose?
The Gathered Silk Dress in black and the Lace Dress in French Blue are my two favourite pieces. I can't wait to tempt myself some more and try them both on tomorrow. Check out the whole collection here. Hope it's as good as it all looks! I'll let you know tomorrow night. XX

DISGRACE

So it seems that I have been the most boring person on the planet for an entire week. I seriously haven't done anything interesting and especially nothing worth posting about. Well until today when Red House Vintage inducted our newest model into the family, Grace. We had an amazing first photo shoot and she got her total babe on.
Can't wait to share the new collection with everyone, it has some of my very favourite pieces yet! (including these unreal vintage Tommy Hilfiger cut offs) Hoping to have it in store tomorrow night but unfortunately as usual there were many issues with lighting which still need to be edited out. Tomorrow night, fingers and eyes crossed. XXX
