QUICK STICKS

You probably don't know this about me but one of my favourite kinds of foods in the world are dips. I don't need to go into the full extent of it but I seriously effing love them. Anyway just now on my way home on the bus, I had a sort of prophecy... Zucchini dip! Does it exist? Can I make? Is it as delicious as it should theoretically be? Yes! Yes! Yes! According to the many recipes that google found for me. Now I cannot wait to make, if not tonight then definitely tomorrow. woohoo!

Potential yummmmmmm!

I think I was so caught up in sharing my lovely night at the beach on Sunday that I failed to mention that Dave and I are now the proud owners of a vintage super 8 camcorder from 1968-69. Tres exciting. And apparently I get to be the lucky one to film the first official video of their band using it... provided we can find out how to get the film processed. If anyone knows anything about Super 8's or Chinon cameras please drop me a line!!

Well I suppose I should get back to orgainising my Gilles St. Markets stock.
Wish me luck on the zucchini dip front! XX
p.s. Any of my friends who are wondering why I am not reply to their msgs, I have no credit as usual but I still love you all.

SUNSET

Last night Dave and I decided to eat sandwiches on the beach and watch the sunset. It was a really beautiful day with no wind so the beach was perfect and still.
I took a few photos of this lovely occasion.

P A R K L I F E

What a surprisingly attractive day, not a bikini in sight! Too bad I let myself go a bit too far to really embrace it all.
I did however manage to stop a very few special people to share their style but mostly just took photos as people walked past in a kind of weird stalker way.
Here's is how my day went...

middle of the day with perfect lips and hair, very impressive!

best jeans in the entire world ever.

friends who I've now realised are almost wearing the same thing :O

This is Uffie, she later laughed at my friend in the medic tent.

Photobucket
what a babe! you can't really tell but her shorts have amazing swirly flowers and she's got a leopard pony hair belt on. not to mention nice hair, great rings and sunnies.

After this I started to have too much fun to take photos it seems... It was night time before I came through.

the pink tree which I was clearly in love with as I ended up with about 25 photos of it.

and this is where I ended up, for anyone in Adelaide it's Sugar.
So out of place, but I'm a good
friend and their waters were second to none.
Then I went home and had a cheese toastie.

So even though the parklife scene is not really my thing and I only wanted to see Missy Elliott (who by the way had one of the weirdest and rudest crowds in history) and one of my friends got so effed up that she had to go home, I had a good day. I got my vodka in without a worry, they were handing out free iced teas all day (a surprisingly good mixer), I found friends I didn't even know were going, managed to get into the VIP area for free, I met my cool next door neighbour who I had never talked to before, pretty sure I introduced myself to Kele and told him he was a real pleasure to meet and the sun was shining. I had a seriously good day and would definitely be down to do it all again.

FYI

As I'm sure you might've noticed I'm not really one for sharing outfit posts... Not to say that I don't LOVE them (they are they main thing that got me into blogs in the first place) but I just never seem to feel up for the challenge.

The weird thing is that I use to be photo mad and back in the day before I got my first digital camera I went through a disposable camera a week. Seriously.

So to start conquering this problem (and my selfish lack of wardrobe sharing), I have decided to bring my camera to parklife to document what my friends, strangers and maybe even what I am wearing; bringing a bit of Adelaide street style to the Red House Vintage blog, should be interesting. My bets are on girls in bikini tops and cut offs (thank you 25 degree day).

Daves got a gig tonight and I'm wearing a pretty dress so perhaps tomorrow I will have some photos to share.

NEW IN STORE

So I finally got my act together (and laptop working) long enough to get some awesome new vintage items into the Red House store.

Current collection is super cute, with plenty of dresses and many pieces for easy spring styling... and all starting at just .99c !!!!!!!!!!

Quietly loving this dress and wishing it fit me!sigh.

Over the weekend Dave and I picked up another Kombi load of clothes, so for the last two days I have been busily sorting, contemplating and trying to get some sort of order in my "office". It is actually ridiculous the amount of stock I have. Ridiculous and awesome.

I have so many ideas and plans which I'm hoping will start falling into place over the next few weeks with some photographic evidence to share. I've been super slack with my lack of photos and it's even starting to annoy me.
Speaking of photographic evidence, I'm going to Parklife next Monday to bare witness to the greatness of Missy Elliott. Looking forward to what should be a pretty crazy day. Don't know what the weather is going to be like but I am so tempted to rock an a Adidas tracksuit... if I can find one in time. haha.
This weekend can't come soon enough!

Just some of the amazing vintage which will be available in store Sunday night
all at one very low and exciting price!!! TBA

Two Suns

Two Suns is my boyfriends band. I'm really looking forward to this show because I also love The Amcats + The Metro always proves to be a chilled place to spend a Saturday night.
I've decided that sometime within the next few months (probably when I get my new camera) I will be doing a full fashion review of the boys because honestly not only does there music make them a pleasure to watch but they are also one of the most sharply dressed bands in Adelaide. Should be good fun!

what a mess!

So I'm officially in love with the Gilles St. Markets, had sooooo much fun and can't wait to do it all again. I found the best part of the day was when people found something they loved and it fit them perfectly, I was generally more excited then them most of the time.

Have had a crazy busy last few weeks and clearly my blog has been suffering because of it. Oh well I'm back to my normal regime now and back to regular posts, promise.

Taking the leap to quit my job and start Red House was a huge step for me and as things slowly come together it really makes me realise how much I appreciate the support and help that I am receiving from my family and friends. If I had nothing else to keep me motivated I know that they would. I can't wait for the day that I can pay it all back. I feel extremely lucky to be able to pursue my dreams and ideas and will only work harder and harder to achieve them.

Having said that though I am sooooooo looking forward to doing the absolute minimum this weekend. Movies, cuddles, wine and that's about it.
Except of course for the...

New collection! Which will be in store Sunday night and is definitely something to look forward too!! So many awesome spring dresses, all starting at a very low and exciting price!!

Till then here is something I found which I really want but is wayyy to expensive and a bit too small for me. So I've decided to try my hand at DIY and recreating it. Wish me luck! and I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
That's about enough i think.
Sorry about this weird mismatch and confusing post, clearly in a strange headspace?
Here's hoping the next post will be wayyyy more interesting and more sense making. XX
